Technology Partnerships Project Intern

Location: On-Site , ventureLAB Markham office , 5 days a week

Project Overview

ventureLAB is seeking a Technology Partnerships Project Intern to support the Director of External Relations in the execution of strategic stakeholder initiatives. This is a time-bound project role focused on bridging the gap between innovation policy and founder success. The intern will focus on a 12-to-16-week roadmap to enhance our relationship management systems and support international market expansion efforts within the hardware and enterprise software sectors.

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual looking to gain high-level exposure to the Canadian tech ecosystem, government relations, and strategic partnership development.

Project Scope & Key Deliverables

The intern will be responsible for the following milestones during their term:

  • Ecosystem Research & Analysis: Use advanced research strategies to develop background profiles and briefing documents on key innovation sectors, including Hardtech, Cleantech, Agri-tech, and AI.

  • International Delegation Support: Provide end-to-end logistics and research support for inbound and outbound international delegations, including communication strategies and post-event impact reporting.

  • Policy Communication: Assist in tracking political and policy developments that impact tech founders, helping translate complex changes into actionable insights for our startup community.

  • Data Infrastructure & CRM: Audit and organize stakeholder data within Salesforce and Google Sheets to optimize how ventureLAB manages its global network of partners and investors.

  • Strategic Reporting: Prepare clear, data-driven presentations and reports for cross-functional teams to inform decision-making and ensure brand alignment across all partnership touchpoints.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Academic Alignment: Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program such as Political Science, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • Analytical Mindset: Proficiency in interpreting market dynamics, industry trends, and data insights to support business strategy.

  • Technical Literacy: Experience with Google Workspace, Salesforce, and a curiosity for leveraging LLMs and data analytics software to improve workflow efficiency.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to work effectively across different departments (Marketing, Founder Services, etc.).

  • Sector Interest: A demonstrated passion for startups, government relations, and the Canadian innovation landscape.

Project Terms

  • Project Duration: 12 to 16 weeks.

  • Hours: 35 hours per week.

  • Compensation: This is a project-based role supported by a fixed monthly allowance.
