Business Development Intern

Up to 16 weeks full time position (35 hours/week)

 

Position Profile

Your primary mission is to fuel our sales engine for our Hardware Lab & AI Compute Subscription Program. Through conducting market research, lead generation, prospecting, outreaching, and identifying high-potential leads, and initiating the first touchpoints to convert them into discovery meetings. This is a hands-on role where you will learn the fundamentals of the B2B sales cycle, from market research to deal closure. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & List Building: Research and identify target companies and key decision-makers (CTOs, Engineering Managers, Startup Founders) within the hardware and deep-tech ecosystem.
  • Multi-Channel Prospecting: Execute outreach across LinkedIn, Email, and Phone to introduce our subscription program and spark interest.
  • Meeting Coordination: Manage the initial "hook" and qualify leads to book discovery meetings/demos for the senior leadership team.
  • Sales Enablement: Assist in creating and refining sales assets, such as pitch decks, one-pagers, and case studies specifically for the hardware lab program.
  • CRM Management: Keep our lead database organized and ensure all outreach activities are logged and tracked.
  • Departmental Support: Perform related duties as assigned within your scope of practice.
 

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary institution program in management, business administration, entrepreneurship, or a related-field with 1-2 years of related business experience, preferably in a not-for-profit or government organization
  • Demonstrated experience in lead generation, sales prospecting, consultative selling
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and G-Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates great interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and communication skills
  • A self-starter that can work under minimal supervision
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset and a great team player
  • Experience working with Salesforce is an asset 
  • Experience working with start-ups is an asset
 

Hours: 35/week on-site in-person
